Experience the excitement of traveling and living abroad while you earn credits in foreign languages and/or many other subjects.
As a member of the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs (ICISP), Moraine Valley Community College makes the following study abroad programs available to its students:

Where can I study abroad?
Austria, Belize, Costa Rica, England, France, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Spain
How long are the programs?
The semester-long programs run every fall and spring in Austria, England, Ireland and Spain. Summer/short term programs include Austria, Belize, Costa Rica, England, France, and Northern Ireland.
How much does it cost to study abroad?
It depends on where you are studying and how long you are studying. Semester programs range from $5,000-$12,000, depending on the geographic location and currency. Summer programs range from $2,000-$5000.
Is airfare included?
Most of the programs do NOT include airfare, except for Costa Rica.
Can financial aid be used to help pay for any or all of the
Financial aid can cover your at-home tuition, which corresponds to your tuition overseas. Any refunds you may receive from financial aid also can be applied toward your study abroad (from the semester before). However, most costs will need to be covered out-of-pocket or via loans.
Are there scholarships available?
Yes! There are scholarships available to students who are Pell Grant recipients (The Benjamin Gilman Scholarship Award). Plus, the Moraine Valley Community College Foundation offers limited awards.
What is the application deadline?
Fall programs: May 15; Spring programs: Oct. 15; Summer programs: deadlines vary depending on the program
Can I pay on a payment plan?
Yes. Please note, though, that all tuition must be paid for up front around the time of the orientation, which is generally about 4-6 weeks before departure depending on the program.
Are the courses I take transferable to my next institution?
Yes! Students will sign up for concurrent classes that correspond with the classes taken overseas. All classes in which students are registered for will be IAI transferable. Students are responsible also for their home tuition at Moraine Valley Community College.
