Transfer Programs

The Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), and Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A.) degrees are transfer programs which provide an opportunity for students to complete the first two years of study leading to a bachelor's degree. By selecting the proper courses, students may transfer as juniors without loss of time or credit. Students wishing to complete a transfer program should consult with an academic advisor to plan a program that will meet individual student needs.

Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.)
Programs are for students who plan to major in liberal arts disciplines such as education, English, foreign language, geography, history, law, music, philosophy, physical education, political science, psychology, sociology, social work, and speech. The transfer program consists of 62 credit hours: 38 credit hours of general education and 24 credit hours of additional degree requirements/electives.

Associate in Science Degree (A.S.)
Programs are for students who plan to major in science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, chiropractic and osteopathy, dentistry, engineering, geology, mathematics, medicine, medical technology, naprapathy, nursing, pharmacy, occupational and physical therapy, physics, and veterinary medicine. It is also for transfer business majors such as accounting, business administration, finance, human resources, marketing, and management. The transfer program consists of 62 credit hours: 38 credit hours of general education and 24 credit hours of additional degree requirements/electives.

Associate in Fine Arts Degree (A.F.A.)
Programs are for the unique needs of students who plan to major in art or art education. Typically, the baccalaureate degree for art and art education majors requires students to complete a sequential list of courses in the major during their freshman and sophomore years, and will require that students complete additional general education at the transfer institution. Consequently, these students' needs are not addressed by the A.A. and A.S. degrees. The A.F.A. transfer program consists of 62 credit hours. For students selecting the art specialization, the student will take 38 credit hours of general education, 15 credit hours of required courses, and 9 credit hours of electives. For students selecting the art education specialization, the student will take 41 credit hours of general education, 15 credit hours of required courses, and 6 credit hours of electives.
