Selling Back Your Books/Refunds

At the end of each term, the Bookstore will buy back books that will be used the following semester for up to 50 percent of the original purchase price. You also may sell back books before the end of the semester at the book's wholesale price. A receipt is not necessary to sell back books; however, a Moraine Valley student ID must be presented. 

The Bookstore buys textbooks every day at wholesale price. The best time to sell your textbooks is at the end of each term, when you have a better chance of getting the best price.

Bookstore Building D Friday, Dec. 12, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Dec. 15 -18, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Dec. 22-23, 8:a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7-8, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Library Building L Monday-Thursday, Dec. 15-18, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 9 a.m.-Noon

Student Life Center Building C Wednesday, Dec. 17, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Moraine Valley Education Center at Blue Island 12940 S. Western Ave., Blue Island Wednesday-Thursday, Dec. 17-18, 2-8 p.m.

You must have your receipt to receive a return/exchange.

Textbooks purchased after the full refund period are ineligible for a refund.

MERCHANDISE REFUND POLICY

• Opened software will not be returnable.
• Reference books can be returned within two days from the date of purchase.
• Non-textbooks, including unopened multimedia items may be returned/exchanged with receipt within 10 calendar days. Merchandise must be in new and salable condition.
• Opened videos, discs, and cassettes may only be exchanged for replacement copies of the original item.
• Defective items including textbooks with a receipt, can be exchanged/returned within 30 days of a purchase

CREDIT CARD AND CHECKS REFUND POLICY

• If the original purchase was made by a credit card, refund will only be issued on that credit card. No cash refund will be given.

• If the original purchase was made by check, You must still return books on time. A gift card will be issued, which is redeemable to cash within two weeks.
