Do I need to be a Moraine Valley student to purchase a membership
with the Health Fitness Center?
No, our memberships are open to everyone in the community whether you live in or out of district.
What is your minimum age requirement?
You must be at least 16 years old to purchase a membership.
Do you offer group fitness classes such as step, cardio, kickboxing,
slide, toning, jazz, ballet, or modern dance?
The Health Fitness Center does not directly offer these classes. Moraine Valley's Physical Education and Health Department (PEH) offers many credit fitness courses to suit your interests.
Do you have locker rooms, a pool, sauna, or whirlpool?
The Health Fitness Center has both men's and women's locker rooms equipped with lockers and showers. We do not have a pool, sauna or whirlpool.
Do you have a walking/running track?
No, the Health Fitness Center does not have an indoor running track. Moraine Valley does have a 1 1/4-mile walking path that completely circles our campus.
Do you have access to basketball or volleyball courts?
No, your Health Fitness Center membership does not include access to the gymnasium courts. The courts are used for athletic and credit course events only.
Do you have a dress code?
Members must wear appropriate exercise attire at all times. A shirt must be worn to cover the upper body and shorts must be mid-thigh or longer. Socks and athletic shoes are also required. Clothing must be for exercise purposes. No jeans, jean shorts, running shorts, or any article of clothing with zippers or rivets. No open-toed shoes, open-backed shoes, boots, sandals, or casual shoes allowed. Failure to dress properly will result in denial to workout.
Do your contests/events have an entry fee?
No, Health Fitness Center members participate in these events for free.
